Music is known as the Universal Language where all people are welcome, and nothing makes that more clear than the music of Rahim Al Haj and his virtuoso performance of the very first stringed instrument, the Oud. This special concert will feature classical fusion music from his new album, “Letters from Iraq”, and will also have music from Syria and Iran as well. Our own local string musicians mix with music from the East!

Michael Palumbo – Viola
James Holland – Cello
Spencer Howe - Bass
Sam Bryson - Percussion

As a part of his residency, Rahim will be participating in several outreach events that are free to the community and he will also perform as a soloist with the Weber State University Symphony Orchestra.

Rahim will give a public lecture at the WSU campus in the Wildcat Theater on Saturday, October 8 at 1 pm. This event is free and open to the public.

Following this lecture, he will give a masterclass in the WSU Browning Center. This will be held in room 113 at 3 pm and is also free to the public.
